It’s week 9 already and in another 2-ish weeks, we will be going on professional experience!
While I should be feeling excited about this, I am actually feeling a little stressed and nervous like Kiera about not knowing what school or grade I will be teaching due to the change in the professional placement system. With the old placement system (for students who live within 50km of the uni) from previous years, we at least had an idea of where we were going to go and what grade we were going to teach, as we were able to number our preferences from one to six on the online program SONIA. This year however, we only had to submit a placement request form to the prac office at uni, which did not require us to do any of that… leaving me quite clueless and anxious as to where I will be placed.
Not long to go now! it will be 4 more days till I find out…. and exactly 18 days till prac begins.

Really…………..18 days until prac! As usual I’m really nervous, wondering is this whole career change thing is a good idea. I have struggled to find a Special Ed placement which is very disheartening. However, I really appreciate the opportunity fro Murwillumbah East Primary School. It also means 3 weeks away form my family. My son asked me not to go whilst we drove to school yesterday morning, but hopefully he will grow up to realise what a difficult journey (I know…cliche) this has been for me but a a great journey.
